As we are approaching the last month of summer, let’s toast to each other with this summery strawberry mojito recipe!
This recipe makes for 1 serving so multiply the ingredients below to meet your desire serving amount.
*P.S. In case you do not have a jigger, 1 oz of liquid = 2 tbps of liquid.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2-3 strawberries, sliced
- 2 sprigs of mint, leaves only
- 1 oz simple syrup **Note, simple syrup recipe below
- 2 oz white rum (you can use brown rum for a deeper flavor)
- 4 oz of soda water
- juice from 1 lime
- ice
DIRECTIONS:
- Add the mint leaves, strawberry slices, and simple syrup to a glass and muddle until the strawberries are lightly smashed.
- Add rum, soda water and lime juice to the same glass.
- Add ice, stir, and enjoy!
**Simple Syrup Recipe
A 1:1 ratio of sugar and water.
- Add 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water to a saucepan.
- Heat sugar mixture at medium heat until sugar are complete dissolved. Stir constantly to prevent sugar from burning.
- Once sugar is completely dissolved, remove from heat and let it cool down before serving or storing.
NOTE: The simple syrup will still remain liquidy and not thicken as you would think “syrup” would so do not overcook to achieve the thickness.
